UPS Food Shipping Update

Quick reminder for anyone shipping food internationally with UPS:

All shipments containing food items must be dropped off at one of our hubs. This allows us to apply the correct UPS labels and ensure your shipment isn’t delayed or rejected.

DHL Canada Shipping Resumes

We’re happy to announce that the labour action in Canada has been called off, and DHL Express has fully resumed shipments to and from Canada.

All Canada-bound shipments can now be booked on our platform for processing as usual.

DHL Pricing Update – GoGreen Surcharge Now Applies

Date: June 15, 2025
Starting June 15, 2025, a GoGreen surcharge of ₦410 per kg will be applied to all DHL shipments. This update aligns with DHL’s global sustainability initiative aimed at reducing carbon emissions.

Carriers affected include:

• DHL Direct
• Terminal Premium
• Terminal Express
• STN

This surcharge ensures continued access to fast, reliable shipping while supporting a cleaner, greener planet. We’re proud to contribute to this global effort and remain committed to providing transparent, competitive pricing.

Aramex Shipping Policy Change: Food Items 🌽🍗🥜

Date: June 3, 2025
Effective immediately, Aramex requires that all food items be booked as individual shipments. This change is to prevent shipping and clearance delays, as food items will no longer be accepted as multi-piece consignments.

Important DHL Update for US Shipments 🚚🇺🇸

Date: April 25, 2025
Starting April 21, 2025, DHL will temporarily pause shipments to individuals in the USA valued over $800 due to new customs rules.

• Shipments under $800 are not affected.
• Shipments sent to businesses valued over $800 are still allowed but may face delays.

Price Review for UPS Shipments

We’re notifying you of an upcoming price review for UPS shipments. This change will take effect on December 22nd, 2024. Please plan your shipments ahead of time to accommodate this update.

Handling Fee for UPS Shipments

Date: October 11, 2024
Dear valued customer, please note that UPS now applies a ₦10,000 handling fee for any package above 25kg, and an additional ₦5,000 per kg for shipments over 75kg (both single and multi-piece). Kindly plan your shipments accordingly.

Holiday Shipping Schedule Update from Aramex

Date: December 19, 2024
We have received an important update from our partner, Aramex, regarding their schedule for the Christmas and New Year season:

• Food item shipments will be paused from 23rd to 26th December 2024.
• All shipments will resume on 27th December 2024.

Shipping Update from DHL

Date: May 31, 2024
Attention Customers: Certain food items are restricted from shipping to the USA.
Herbal products and items falling under the plant category, including dried vegetables, "Agbo," melon seeds, and similar products, are not allowed.

Updated List of Prohibited Items from STN

Date: May 31, 2024
Hey there, here are some of the prohibited items at STN:

• Prohibited: Beans, Rice, Dairy products, Locust Beans, Kolanut, Bitter Kola, Herbs, Herbal sticks, Fashion items with foreign trademarks
• Prohibited to the USA: Vegetables, Egusi, Snail, Ugba
• Prohibited to the UK: Egusi
• Prohibited to Australia: Breadfruit, Snail
• Fish must be packaged with a maximum shipment weight of 20kg per waybill.
• Snail and periwinkle (except Australia and USA) must be packaged with a maximum shipment weight of 2kg per waybill.
• All food items going to the USA must go with the proper phyto.

Shipping Update from DHL for Fish & Aquatic Products Date: September 26, 2024
Please note that UPS has informed us that fish and aquatic products are not allowed to be shipped to the UK through their services. Compliance with this regulation is essential to avoid potential confiscation and related complications.

DHL, UPS, FedEx and ShiptoNaija have implemented restrictions on the shipment of counterfeit, replica, or imitation branded items originating from Nigeria.
This policy pertains to various articles, including but not limited to bags, shoes, clothing, and accessories associated with prominent brands such as Gucci, Prada, Cartier, Rolex, among others.
